TEST ENGINEERING MANAGER
Location: Upstate NY

Manage a Test Engineering group for a leading worldwide producer of instruments and integrated subsystems developed for advanced manufacturing process environments. This company develops and manufactures a diverse range of products, including sophisticated DC and RF power generation and conversion systems. Their products are recognized as 'best-in-class' around the world. Will manage a group of 10, responsible for developing and implementing test programs across all product areas. Specific responsibilities will include:

* Establish test strategies and roadmap.
* Define test methods and lead implementation for both in-house use and suppliers.
* Develop product test specifications, and create set-up and test procedures.
* Supervise design, procurement and documentation of test systems, tools and fixtures.
* Supervise test system preventative maintenance.
* Participate in product design and development, providing DFT input.

Qualifications:

BSEE (or equivalent) with 8+ years of experience in test of DC or RF power systems, with at 3+ years in a lead or supervisory role. Experience designing test plans and methods at component, module and system levels, using LabVIEW or Visual Basic platform. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and transition of products from design to testing desired.

SENIOR RF ENGINEER - VHF
Location: Upstate NY

Design and productize leading edge, high efficiency RF power generation equipment for thin films processing:

* 20MHz to 100MHz (with future work at higher frequencies)
* Power amplifier topologies (Class A/B, Class C, Class E, Class D, etc)
* Passive subassembly designs; filters, combiners, dividers, etc.


Verify design margin through the using circuit simulations and bench testing
Improve design robustness using FMEA (failure modes and effect analyses) and DFx (design for manufacturability, assembly, and servicability).
Analyze design variability for 4 statistical design margin in manufacturing
Document and explain designs to peer reviewers, internal and external customers
Oversee in test-to-specification and reliability qualification tests

Skill Requirements:

BSEE or equivalent (MSEE a plus) and 7+ yrs exp. with RF or switch-mode power electronics. Exp. with circuit simulation tools (e.g. SPICE, Agilent ADS, Microwave Office, etc) Ability to understand and manage tradeoffs between cost, performance and power density. SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Location: Upstate NY

Manage process of identifying, defining, and controlling a coherent and logical chain of systems requirements for all new DC product development, product extensions, and special product requests. Work from top-level customer requirements to produce detailed design packages. Develop systems that are effective, affordable, reliable, maintainable, user safe, manufacturable, serviceable, user friendly. Audit engineering development efforts to ensure timely, cost-effective achievement of technical objectives. Contributions will be documented through Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Input-Output-Constraint Charts (IOCs), Technical risk identification, and Component/Hardware/Software/System Integration Test Plans. Work directly with other DC Engineering product group members in support of product delivery.

Individual will interface with Marketing, Sales, and Beta/Manufacturing to ensure smooth transition of customer requirements into detailed design and subsequent release of Bill of Materials and Test Equipment / Plans to Beta/Manufacturing for manufacturing process development that will lead to full release of respective products to production.

Skill Requirements:

Minimum of Bachelors in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and 10+ years exp. in design, manufacture, and test of electronic systems. Exp with DC switch mode power supplies required; must have hands on experience with MOSFET/IGBT design, high power magnetics, embedded control systems, thermal (heatsink/airflow) design, and certification/compliance of power electronics. Exp. with Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Design of Experiments (DOE), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Statistical

Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Trade-off analysis techniques required

Exp. with Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) desired.
